Fuel Filler Neck

According to the Master Parts Catalog Ford made many filler necks for the Maverick. 1970 was the same in 49 states. 71-74 was the same in 50 states. 75-77 US models has a door for the smaller unleaded gas pump nozzle. Also different filler neck for a 16 gallon tank and the 19 gallon tank, sometimes made in Canada or U.S. made a difference in which filler neck was used.

Maverick and Comet do not share the same filler neck. The Maverick has one of its mounting screw at 12 o'clock whereas the Comet has a screw at 6 o'clock. The gas cap flange is also clocked different.
