Taurus Fan

I trying to make a Taurus 2-speed electric fan work with my 250 six cylinder. The reason is not because of overheating, it's more of the wow factor than anything else. Who knows it might pickup another 1 or 2 horsepower or miles per gallon. The Taurus fan is almost a bolt-on modification with a little trimming and the shroud covers 99.9% of the core. First thing I did was disassemble the fan. A small socket between the puller and blade was used to finish pushing the shaft through the fan hub. I then cleaned the blade and shroud with Greased Lighting using an old paint brush for a parts washer brush. Using masking tape for a guide, I trimmed the shroud with a cut-off wheel and Dermal and cleaned the edges with a file so it will fit flat on the radiator.

Getting this fan to fit between the 250's V-8 size radiator and a six cylinder isn't as easy as it sounds because of the length of the six and the extra 11/16 in. core. I needed to find at least another inch or better clearance. I'm thinking the best way to gain the extra clearance is moving the radiator forward, either by moving the mounting cradle on the radiator itself or/and eliminating the bulge in the radiator support. A Volvo fan controller will be used get the fan rolling in low speed before going to high speed.
