Wheels
I decided to go in another direction with the wheels. Although I like the Magnum 500's, they are too new school in this situation. I'm wanting a more period correct look. I was thinking steel rims painted body color with the correct Coke bottle caps that came on the 60-63 Falcon would be more proper.
Wheel Vintiques 63 Series Mopar wheel are 15x7 with a 4.25 in. backspace and it accepts a 8.5 in. dog dish cap. I just had to figure out a way to make my 9 in. caps fit this wheel. These wheels fits the larger diameter disc brake spindles also. 205/60 Uniroyal are on all four corners. Spare tire is a 14 in. Maverick rim
Using a mig welder, I added metal to the nubs and used a Dremel to dress things into shape. Test fit cap, make adjustments by adding or removing material. Then prep and paint.
The original hubcaps that I removed 55 years ago cleaned up fairly well considering they been thrown around loose and lived a rough life.
