Electric Trunk Release

The electric trunk release came from a 83 Cougar. I used a Dremel cut-off wheel to cut the latch the same width as the original latch. Two new bolt holes were drilled in the new latch. The switch is fused with the cigarette lighter circuit and stays powered without the ignition key having to be on. I didn't get 'lift-off' until I replaced the torsion spring with a thicker Grabber spring. With the non-Grabber spring the trunk lid would lay flat.
