Wheels

I decided to go in another direction with the wheels. Although I like the Magnum 500's, they are too new school in this situation. I'm wanting a more period correct look. I was thinking steel rims painted body color with the correct Coke bottle caps that came on the Falcon would be more proper.

Wheel Vintiques 63 Series Mopar wheel are 15x7 with a 4.25 in. backspace and it accepts a 8.5 in. dog dish cap. I just had to figure out a way to make my 9 in. caps fit this wheel.

Using a mig welder, I added metal to the nubs and used a Dremel to dress things into shape. Test fit cap, make adjustments by adding or removing material. Then prep and paint.

The orignal hubcaps that I removed 55 years ago cleaned up fairly well considering they been thrown around loose and lived a rough life.
